This was held at Dee Why RSL Club on the 25th of Feb 2010.

Thank you to all our members who attended and made it such a successful day.

A new committee was voted in with Rosemary Mc Culloch our new President.

Despite the background noise of "Australian Wood Peckers"( jack hammers )

Lesley Duffill, Sydney U3A President, gave a delightful talk.

Guest Speaker, Mr. David Dale, author of "The Little Book of Australia.",and journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald & Sun Herald had us enthralled with his amazing facts and figures about his topic "What kind of people will Australians be in 2010."

MORE Coffee and Classics

MAP Picnic

Remember our fabulous picnic at Manly Dam last October?

Here are some photos to remind you what a great day was had by all who attended.

Many thanks to Jim Boyce who gave a fascinating talk about the Dam and its surrounds also to Rosemary and her helpers who supplied such a delicious feast.

FUN AT THE TRAMSHED

A new venue for U3A classes: Pittwater Rd. Narrabeen. Rear of first building, south of main car park and bus stop. This is held in the Lake View Hall. Some times there is something on that needs a bigger, or smaller room, but there will always be somebody there who will direct you to the correct place.

Let Us Know

If you have any item or items of interest that you think other U3A members would like to hear about, we would love to put them on our MAP webpage. Maybe, there was a special place that you went on holidays, or a great trip that you have heard about. Even to tell others of a really good speaker that you heard. "Autumn" by Peg Parish

Autumn slides around the corner of March

Nudging along a languid summer,

Hangs on the coat-tails of warm sunny days & blue rinsed skies

With sly cool breaths to colour the leaves red and yellow

Before unhooking them with probing winds in a floating flurry.

There is a stillness, a freeze-frame in the air

That holds one mesmerised on the cusp of season

Before the plunge into the maelstrom of winter

Like the leaves, the mind is loosened from its moorings

And lets the coloured thoughts float down in poetry.

Help, Help!! Booking Secretaries needed

Thank you to those of you who have already responded but we still need some more volunteers to act as Bookings Secretaries for the next Semester Courses. You only need to take the bookings from members over the telephone, make contact with the Leader prior to the start of the course and attend the first session. Once the course starts, a member of the course can take over filling in the register. If you think that you can help us, please contact Roy Bedford.
